Being the daughter of the famous Beatles member, Paul McCartney, never stopped Stella from making a name of her own. Born in London in 1971, McCartney was surrounded by music. She toured with her family group, Wings, from the time she was born until 1980. She also showed an interest in fashion, making her first jacket at age thirteen and then interning for Christian Lacroix at fifteen. McCartney also worked under her father’s tailor for awhile. In 1995, she graduated from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and shared her first collection. Her first show made headlines and models like Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss walked in it. Her designs were then licensed to stores like Neiman Marcus. She became the Creative Director of Chloe in Paris in 1997, after Karl Lagerfeld. The next year, McCartney designed her sister’s wedding gown. In 2001, she launched her own fashion line. Stella McCartney is now worldwide, having stores in over 50 countries and in places such as New York, California, Paris, Barcelona, Miami, Rome, and Milan. Her first perfume is called Stella and was released in 2003. Her 100% organic skincare line called CARE was launched in 2007. The following year she created a lingerie line and in 2010 her collection for kids was launched. She held a famous fashion presentation in 2012 at the New York Marble Cemetery which included guests like Andre Leon Talley, Anne Hathaway, Jim Carrey, and Amy Poehler. She has designed clothes for Madonna and Annie Lennox music performances along with costumes for Gwyenth Paltrow and Jude Law. Since 2004, she has been in partnership with Adidas for a womenswear sports-line collection. In 2010, McCartney became the Creative Director for Team GB for the 2010 Olympics. She designed for H&M in 2005 and for Target in 2007. In 2008 she released bags for LeSportsac. The same year, she collaborated with the lingerie label Bendon. In 2010, Disney and McCartney paired together for an Alice in Wonderland jewelry collection. She also designed costumes in 2011 for Ocean’s Kingdom in New York. Her father presented her with the VH1/Vogue Designer of the Year award in 2000. Also that year, she designed Madonna’s wedding dress. McCartney was awarded with the Glamour Award for Best Designer of the Year in 2004, the Organic Style Woman of the Year Award in 2005, the Elle Style Award for Best Designer of the Year Award in 2007, the Best Designer of The Year at the British Style Awards in 2007, along with a number of other awards throughout her fashion career. This UK born star a singer, songwriter, actress, and record producer. She can play the guitar, mandolin, keyboard, bass, drums, and clarinet. Growing up in Lyonshall, Goulding began her music career at the age of nine with the clarinet. After her instrumental talents grew into the guitar, she was a lead in The Wizard of Oz for school and started writing songs at fifteen. College brought her singing capacity to the table and added to her musical abilities. She attended the University of Kent and was noticed by Jamie Lillywhite of Turn First Artists. Goulding then started working with Lillywhite and musician Starsmith. Some of her early UK releases are “Wish I Stayed,” “Under the Sheets,” and “Guns and Horses.” Goulding won the BBC Sound of 2010 poll, showing her as a rising star. The Critics’ Choice Award at the 2010 BRIT Awards was also given to her. Lights, her first album, was released in 2010. It hit number one for the UK Albums Chart. Her second, Run Into the Light, released the same year, was a remix of songs from her first album and was supported by Nike. Goulding re-released Lights, now titled Bright Lights. During Christmastime, her 2010 cover of Elton John’s “Your Song” became Goulding’s second highest-charting single. She performed at the Glastonbury Festival and the iTunes Festival in 2010 as well. In 2011, she was on the list of Rolling Stone annual hot list as number five. She played at Coachella in 2011. She performed her single “Starry Eyed” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2011 and then was Saturday Night Live’s 700th episode. At the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, Goulding performed “Your Song” for the couple’s first dance along with a number of other singles. In 2011 she collaborated with Skrillex. 2011 brought a number of musical performances for Goulding including the 2011 Wakestock Festival in Wales, at Lollapalooza in Chicago, and at the annual Nobel Peace Prize Concert. She sang at the White House for the National Christmas Tree lighting ceremony in 2011 as well. Her second album, Halcyon, was released in 2012 and including her hit with Calvin Harris, “I Need Your Love,” and other hits like “Anything Could Happen” and “Figure 8.” She was on the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 2 soundtrack in 2012 and toured with Bruno Mars in 2013. Other hits from that year include “You My Everything” and a cover of “Tessellate.” Goulding re-released Halcyon, as Halcyon Days, in 2013. This including her hit “Burn” which became her first single to top the UK’s Official Single Charts. The film About Time included her song “How Long Will I Love You?” and it became BBC’s Children in Need single. She was on the soundtrack for “Mirror” for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Goulding starred in the film Tom & Issy. She also performed on the final of The X Factor. In 2014, she released the music video for her hit “Goodness Gracious,” and her song “Beating Heart” was featured in the movie soundtrack for Divergent. She loves running and ran in the Nike Women Half Marathon in Washington, D.C. in 2013. She is close friends with singers Lorde and Katy Perry. Goulding says of her fashion style, “My fashion inspiration is everything from Patti Smith to Gwen Stefani, even Courtney Love.” She is currently in a relationship with McFly member Dougie Poynter (until she meets me, of course, since we will be getting married…) Ellie Goulding is one of the most amazing people to join the musical world and I cannot wait for what she brings next.

2. She is beyond humble, even with her tremendous success.
3. She has the best outlook and attitude towards life.
4. She isn’t as big of a name as she deserves to be…yet!

6. She is one of the few famous singers who actually has talent and can sing for real.
7. She needs to collaborate with Lily Allen.
8. The rumors about her are ridiculous.

Bieber Fever:

Starting off on YouTube, this Canadian born pop star is now a name known around the world. Getting his big break from Usher, Justin Bieber doesn’t seem to stop making headlines. He grew up in Ontario and knew how to play guitar, trumpet, drums, and piano from an early age. His mother posting his videos online is what got him noticed. He was signed to RBMG record label with Usher and then with L.A. Reid and Island Records in 2008. His song “One Time” was his first single and sent him to the top, along with “One Less Lonely Girl” and his album My World. Bieber’s music peaked on Billboard Hot 100 and sent his album to go Platinum in the United States and Double Platinum in the UK and Canada. Even early in his career, Bieber performed on a number of shows like The Today Show, Ellen DeGeneres, Good Morning America, and Chelsea Lately. He sang for President Obama and his family during Christmastime in 2009 and sang for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve the same year. He presented at the Grammy Awards in 2010. Also in 2010, his My World 2.0 album along with his hits “Baby” and “Somebody to Love” were released and topped the charts. For Billboard 200, Bieber became the youngest solo male act to be number one since 1963. It is said that his music video for “Baby” became the most disliked and most viewed video for 2010. “Beliebers” became a top buzzword in 2010 and he was the top trending star for Twitter. His film Justin Bieber: Never Say Never was released in 2011 and was sent straight to the top for the box office. In 2011, Justin Bieber ranked on Forbes list as #2 for Best-Paid Celebrities Under 30. The next year, his album Believe and his song “Boyfriend” were released, keeping him on top. His follow-up film, Justin Bieber’s Believe was also released in 2012. Wax figures of the pop star can be found at Madame Tussauds museums in Amsterdam, London, and New York. He endorsed Adidas in 2012. Bieber has a line of fragrances as well. He is constantly in the press, whether for his music, hairstyle, or recently frequent controversies, such as his relationship with Selena Gomez or his legal issues. He has also made himself known for the fashion industry. Justin Bieber doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.
